I’m New

We’re glad that you are looking for more information about our congregation!

We always welcome new members and have many points of contact to assist you.

There are fourteen elders to assist in addition to our already warm and helpful Pastors and staff.

At each service we have “Greeters” who are there to welcome you and answer any questions you may have.

Our church has many ways to get involved; peruse our Calendar of Events to find a study, group, or gathering if you choose.

What to Expect at a Worship Service

Children are welcome at each service.  Activity bags are available, please ask an usher.

No coat and tie required.  We are a welcoming and relaxed congregation.

We “share the peace” with one another at the beginning. Simply say “peace be with you” or “good morning” to those around you.

You’ll get an easy to follow order of worship which is printed especially for each Sunday. Our services are not just about the preacher talking- but the congregation is very active in speaking and singing. All the bold text is for the congregation to say together.

We use the Lutheran Service Book and have an easy to follow hymnal with new and old favorites. Sing as loud (or softly) as you want.

You’ll hear three readings from Scripture- one from the Old Testament and two from the New Testament.

A brief children’s message for “little children” is given on non-Communion services. Parents are welcomed to go up with their children, if desired.

You’ll hear a sermon usually lasting 10-20 minutes. The sermons are based on one of the Scripture readings.

You’ll see an attendance card, please fill out with as much info as you want.

An offering plate- place the attendance card in it and pass it to the next person. Both visitors and members give to the church as they are moved to do so.

The Lord’s Supper is given to members who have undergone Christian baptism and have been confirmed in a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod congregation. If you are interested in membership please indicate so on the Attendance Card and talk with a pastor or usher about membership classes leading to confirmation.

You’ll hear some announcements at the end of the service. Visitors are never publicly “spotlighted”.

Please join us for coffee, juice, and a snack after service. Ask for a tour! Ask about Sunday School.

We have many bible studies and interest groups that meet regularly- all are welcome to attend.

If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask! May the Lord bless you and your time with us.
